Trenton ISD Update
Hello Tiger Families,
I wanted to provide a quick district update for everyone in our community. Today, inspectors from the State Fire Marshall's office conducted their investigation on-site.
The next step in this process will be to have an engineer come out and inspect the building before another investigation begins from our insurance company.
Please continue to stay away from the building and off the grounds around the building. Being on the grounds or around the building may compromise the investigation process.
We greatly appreciate the overwhelming support we are receiving from not only our community but from all of our surrounding communities. At this time, we ask that if you are interested in making a donation to Trenton ISD please contact Madi Neill at mneill@trentonisd.org. All information about current teacher/district needs will be coordinated through the administration office.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Strickland
Superintendent
Trenton ISD

Tiger Families,
Trenton ISD will remain closed tomorrow 4/11/23 to allow us one more day to finalize our plans for bringing students back on campus.
After school activities will be held as scheduled tomorrow for the high school campus.
We will announce our detailed return to school plan tomorrow. Our goal is to have everything finalized by noontime tomorrow.
Thank you to everyone that has reached out offering assistance during this challenging time.
#TigersTogether
Sincerely,
Jeremy Strickland
Superintendent
Trenton ISD

Tiger Families,
As most of you know, the lower elementary building was damaged early this morning by a fire and the damage is extensive. While this is heartbreaking news for our community, we are grateful that no one was in the building or injured as a result of the fire.
At this time, we are not ready to make a decision on what the school week will look like for our elementary students or the district. Our administration team is meeting early today to discuss our course of action and an announcement will be made later today regarding returning to school for all campuses.
Please know that the building is in an unsafe condition and no one is allowed to be on the property until further notice. The district will likely be blocking off the road in front of the school for an extended period of time.
On behalf of Trenton ISD, I want to thank all of the firefighters, and paramedics from surrounding communities for their heroic efforts to contain the fire. I also want to thank all the individuals who showed up to provide those fighting the fire with bottled water and towels to keep them cool. Lastly, I want to thank everyone who showed up to pray for the firefighters, paramedics, and our school.
Throughout all my years in this district, we have always risen to the occasion when faced with a challenge or uncertainty. Rest assured, we will formulate a plan to take care of and provide for our students and staff during this challenge. That’s what Tigers do, they take care of each other. #TigersTogether
We appreciate your continued support, thoughts, and prayers as we navigate this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Strickland
Superintendent
Trenton ISD

Calendar Reminder: Monday 4/10/23

Congratulation to our March students of the month at THS.
Lexi Williams is our female student of the month. Lexi competes in cheer, Robotics, UiL, Debate, One Act Play, and golf here at THS. She is an exemplary student and does a great job representing her school, her family, and her community. Congratulations Lexi.
Christian Medina is our March male student of the month. Christian makes good grades at school, participates in FFA activities, and is a very helpful young man. He has earned praise from his teachers by helping a young man who didn't speak English when he arrived at school by translating and helping him out in several classes throughout the day. Great job Christian.

Cheer coach, nurse, attendance clerk, one act play assistant, and front office manager. Ms. Teri Vasquez does all of that and so much more every day for Trenton High School, and always greets everyone that comes to our school with a welcoming smile. These are just a few examples of why she is out THS staff member of the month. Thank you Teri!

TES MARCH TEAM OF THE MONTH - SPECIAL EDUCATION TEAM
Jennifer Lyday, Lucy Martinez and Ashley Fonville
Mrs. Lyday has a genuine way of connecting with each student she serves. She fosters an atmosphere of "I Can." Mrs. Lyday is passionate about instilling a love for reading in her students, which supports the general education teachers, and carries over into their classrooms. She is a strong advocate for the needs of each student she serves, and is exceptional at building school to family relationships with those under her care.
Mrs. Lucy is a huge asset to the TES campus. She is one of the kindest and sweetest staff members on our campus. She greets students in the morning car line with a huge smile, and begins everyday with calm, positive energy. If you call our campus needing to talk to someone in Spanish, you will most likely be accommodated by Mrs. Lucy. She is excellent at helping with communication barriers, and is always happy to help with any other task she is asked to be a part of. Students absolutely adore her and we are very fortunate to have her at TES.
Mrs. Fonville cares about helping students show growth. She can often be found in classrooms assisting students with their learning. She works well with teachers to support student instruction, and has high expectations for the students she helps serve. She is ready to lend a helping hand where needed.

TES MARCH STUDENTS OF THE MONTH - SAGE JOHNSON (KINDERGARTEN) & BRIANNA OCHOA (3RD GRADE)
Sage Johnson is an exemplary student and embodies all the attributes of a "ROARing Tiger!" He is kind and always willing to help others. Sage gives his best effort on everything he does and always has a smile on his face. - Christina King
Brianna Ochoa is an excellent artist and student. She is consistently well-mannered and kind. I can always count on her to be a good listener, follow directions, and give 100% effort. Brianna's artistic skills and craftmanship shine in every piece she creates. - Amber Bowman

Congratulations to Allie Faggart on advancing to Regionals today at the District Golf Tournament! #TigersTogether
