Trenton Robotics Summer Volunteer Project This year the Trenton High School Robotics Team selected the Pre-K classroom building as our summer volunteer project. The outside restoration of the building was funded by a generous gift from the Donaghey Foundation and Trenton ISD. The students replaced worn wood and painted the exterior. They also added metal underpinning, white rock, and a new welcome banner. Students volunteering their time included David De La Cueva, Evan Elston, Zander Huffman, Jose Lobato, Lukas Lowrance, David Parsons, Landon Schuster, Lukas Schuster, Emory Williams, and Lexington Williams. Jana Baugh and Melanie Hall, Trenton Pre-K teachers, were the inspiration behind the paint scheme. Robotics Sponsor Larry Williams and Superintendent Jeremy Strickland helped mentor the project. The photos attached include the Pre-K building exterior before work began, students in action, and the Pre-K building after work was complete. Thank you to all the students who gave up some of their summer vacation time to participate in this important project.

In Mrs. Sleeper’s sixth grade science class today, students had to save Sam, (gummy worm) the worm, whose boat (cup) had capsized. They could only use a paperclip. Sam’s life vest (gummy lifesaver) was stuck under the boat so students had to get Sam off the top of the boat, get the boat off of the life vest, and get the life vest onto Sam’s belly in order to save him. The students really enjoyed this critical thinking activity. #TigersTogether #Thrive

Trenton Elementary Dismissal Update: Elementary Parents, We are adjusting our dismissal process starting this afternoon regarding walk-ups. In an effort to improve our dismissal system by making it both more organized and safer, starting today, walk-ups will be released after we have gotten all of our bus riders on the buses. We appreciate your understanding while we work to improve our processes. Sincerely, Jeremy Strickland Superintendent #TigersTogether

These ladies are the hero’s of the day! Our food service department didn’t let the boil water notice impact our breakfast or lunches. They prepared all our meals in the high school kitchen and transported them to the elementary to serve the elementary/middle school students. They’re all smiling at the end of the day and prepared to do it all again tomorrow! This is the definition of #TigersTogether

Due to the boil water notice issued by the city, the elementary and middle school students are encouraged to bring a bottle of water to school today. We have shut off all water fountains. Our food service department is prepared to handle breakfast and lunch. This high school campus is not impacted by the boil water notice. Trenton ISD will continue to monitor the situation through out the day but are ready to welcome our students back to school.
